With all the changes in our lives resulting from ongoing health concerns, world-wide unrest, and the unavoidable onslaught of social media disruptions, the holidays may be somewhat uncertain, lonely, and melancholy for many.
Personally, I’m feeling the effects of an overabundance of anxiety overshadowing the spirit of the season.
Instead of happy and joyful messages, my incoming stream of email and social media posts are laden with guarded caution, baseless warnings, and a litany of ever-changing irrational challenges — a far cry from years past when the holidays brought hope, inspiration, and much-needed connection with family and friends.
Rather than dwell on the alleged problems poised seemingly on the verge of eruption that sadden my heart, I’m grateful for the future possibilities to come — and the memories that keep me closely-knit to those I love.
In celebration of the season, I’m embracing the values of respect, humility, and courtesy with an open mind and joyful spirit.
I hope you’ll choose to recall your own cherished recollections from times past, when the world and those we share it with expressed gratitude, acceptance, and unconditional acts of kindness and generosity to their fellow humans.
In fact, rather than simply remembering those heartfelt moments, why not reach out to others every day with those desperately needed gestures?
You may discover the reward is well worth the effort, regardless of the season.
In health & happiness,
